Official UofL Alumni Association Homecoming 2013 events are indicated with a red title. Other events are sponsored by the Student Activities Board, individual schools and colleges, alumni networks, and registered student organizations.

The 10th Annual Block Party is sure to capture your attention with unique rides and amusements for all ages! Expect grilled food & refreshments, live radio broadcasting, and the picking of the 2013 Homecoming Teams.

Friday, October 11


Alumni Association Homecoming Golf Scramble
1 p.m.
Chariot Run Golf Course at Horseshoe Southern Indiana
Tee it high and let it fly at our new location. Proceeds from this four-person best ball scramble help support alumni scholarships and programs. $125 per golfer, register online.

Monday, October 14


The Nearly Naked Mile
6:30 p.m. Check in; 7:30 p.m. Start
West Plaza
Students are invited to remove and donate excess layers of gently used clothing before the start of the race (while keeping the bathing suit areas covered)! Students who are not comfortable exposing their body are encouraged to come in a fun costume.

Unity Place (Greek Row)
The annual pep rally includes a stationary parade, music, free food and lots of Cardinal spirit to get fans excited and ready for the Friday night Homecoming Game.

A series of games that allow each team to show what they know and engage in competitive fun.

Alumni Awards Celebration featuring the UofL Alumna of the Year Award
6 p.m.
Ice House, 217 E. Main Street
Celebrate the best of UofL by attending the 2013 Alumni Awards Celebration featuring the UofL Alumna of the Year, Debby M. Oxley. Each year the Alumni Association honors the Alumnus of the Year and 11 Alumni Fellows selected by their peers. $100 per person, $750 for a table of eight. Call Donna O’Donnell at (502)852-6962.

Homecoming Talent Show

The Homecoming Talent Show is intended to display the vast array of talents possessed by our student body and offer an entertaining show to anyone who attends.

Legacy Day

Legacy Day is an opportunity for high school seniors and juniors who are children or grandchildren of alumni to visit campus during Homecoming weekend. Register online by Oct. 11.

African American Alumni Council Homecoming Scholarship Luncheon
11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Carrabba’s Italian Grill, 617 Hurstbourne Parkway
Featuring guest speaker Tierney Bates from the Cultural Center to discuss ways to help increase the graduation/retention rates through mentoring and alumni involvement. $10 per person in advance, $15 per person at the door. Register online.

SGA Reunion
11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
University Club
Join our Dean of Students, Dr. Michael Mardis, and other SGA alumni on campus for lunch at the University Club. $20 includes the cost of lunch. Register online by Oct. 14, learn more.

Student Recreation Center Grand Opening
2 p.m.
Student Recreation Center
Please join President Ramsey, university administrators and student leaders at the opening of the new Student Recreation Center. The $37.5 million, 128,000 square foot facility is located on Fourth Street between Kurz and Minardi Halls. The SRC will provide much-needed space for the expansion of recreational sports and fitness opportunities for UofL students. No registration required.

Alumni Tailgate Central and Homecoming Football Game

Tailgate at 5:30 p.m, Game at 8:00 p.m.
Street Fest at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium
The UofL Alumni Association has all the ingredients for the perfect Cardinal-made tailgate, including great food, music, games, giveaways. As the Cardinals prepare to take on the UCF Knights, join us at Tailgate Central for game day specials including $1 hotdogs, $2 beers/soft drinks, and $3 burgers. No registration required.

Kent School of Social Work Alumni Network Tailgate

Join the Kent School of Social Work at Tailgate Central before the Homecoming game. Reconnect with alumni, students, faculty and staff and enter to win a signed basketball and terrace level basketball tickets.

Annual Delta Upsilon Homecoming Tailgate Party

Event at 10:30 a.m., Scrimmage at 1 p.m.
Outside the KFC Yum! Center, Main Street
Bring family and friends downtown to the KFC Yum! Center Plaza for a UofL community celebration. Games, food, and fan activities make this the perfect Homecoming festival. Scrimmage tickets should be purchased via GoCards.com.

2013 Parent of the Year Award Ceremony

The Cardinal Parent of the Year award is a celebration of the supportive role that parents and guardians play in the lives of our students. Parents and guardians are essential to student success because of their dedication, determination and support in fostering student development and academic achievement.

Join us for the first annual “Think Again: A Day with A&S,” a half-day showcase of the College of Arts and Sciences. Be enlightened and entertained with a campus tour, refreshments in an art gallery, a performance by our theatre arts repertory company, and short talks by some of our academic stars including faculty and this year’s A&S Alumni Fellow, David “Jelly” Helm. 2013 Delta Upsilon Homecoming Reunion

During the Homecoming Program, DU will be recognizing all brothers who initiated during the 1950s and before. Event includes dinner, dance, and short program. J. B. Speed School of Engineering Homecoming Reception & Dinner
