During your time at the University of Louisville the recreational facilities in the SAC, Humana Gym, or Cardinal Corner may have been a valued part of your campus life. Now that you are graduated, you may be looking for a place to workout, play racquetball, run a few games of basketball, or shoot a few racks of pool.
Your Alumni Status: you qualify to become a Recreational Facility Member through a program administered by the Department of Intramural and Recreational Sports in partnership with the UofL Alumni Association. This membership has been designed to be much more affordable than other memberships in the area and includes some things that other private clubs may not offer.
Price: The membership currently costs $175 per year and runs from January 1 through December 31. Dues are pro-rated at the beginning of every month during the year and renewal notices are sent out to all members each December. The membership fee is also kept low to encourage you to remain involved with the university through making regular visits to campus.
This membership plan includes the use of the SAC, Humana Gym, and the Cardinal Corner Game Room. Immediate family members (spouse, domestic partner, or children under 18) are eligible for memberships at reduced rates. You also have the option to purchase additional validations for your ID that will allow you to bring guests at no additional daily charge. Many of our current members use this option to entertain business clients or just to bring friends along. Call us at 852- 6707 if you have any questions about the family/guest plan.
For parking you may still purchase a Purple permit (from the Parking Office) which will allow you to park at Papa Johns’ Cardinal Stadium and ride the shuttle, which will drop you off at the front door of the SAC. The shuttle runs every 8-10 minutes. After 5 p.m. the purple pass also allows you to park in the garage next to the SAC. The Purple pass is $93 per year and is pro-rated to $63 in December. There are almost 100 free parking spots at the renovated Humana Gym if you’d like to workout there.
