Your Alumni Association

Established in 1924, the UofL Alumni Association consists of more than 130,000 alumni around the world. Membership is free and is open to all alumni and associate alums (those who acquired 90 or more credit hours at UofL but have not graduated).

Like the University, the Alumni Association represents all 12 academic schools and colleges with undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate alumni scattered throughout the globe. Our alumni combine in creating the backbone of this institution. Building on the resources of these diverse groups worldwide the Alumni Association allows us to develop together a strong continuing relationship with UofL. Over the last several decades, the Alumni Association has evolved considerably by adding college and school alumni councils, a network of state, regional, national, and international clubs, scholarship programs, and a variety of special events.

Each year the license plate partnership with the state contributes almost a quarter million dollars to Hallmark and Alumni Association scholars in tuition assistance. Affinity programs help alumni show their pride and help the next round of graduates succeed. In addition to our traditional Homecoming venue and reunions, alumni are active in the general community, enriching the lives surrounding them.

The Alumni Association provides services and programs that offer alumni the opportunity of continuing benefits. From group discounts to access to resources, UofL alumni enjoy their alma mater well beyond their graduation. Special annual events include the 50-Year Golden Alumni Reunion and Homecoming. Events on campus and around the country provide many networking opportunities with former classmates, faculty and staff, and new friends.

You can be an active participant very easily. Join the UofL Advocates Program, serve as an Alumni Ambassador, volunteer for the Alumni Association Board of Directors, or help steer the alumni council of your respective college or constituent groups (African American Alumni Council, Letterwinners’ Club, or the Red Barn Alumni Association). The association is governed by the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. There are plenty of volunteer opportunities and events that you may participate in, so please contact us to find out more!

Be sure to stop in and visit us on your next trip to UofL. You can find us in the Malcolm B. Chancey Alumni Center. For information or to share your comments, call 502-852-6186, fax 502-852-6920 or write to the Alumni Association, University of Louisville, Alumni Center, Louisville, KY 40292.
