The Louisville Municipal College, 1931-1951, was a four-year liberal arts college created for African American students before desegregation.

It was distinguished as one of only three liberal arts colleges for African Americans established in the United States at the time and it enjoyed a prestigious reputation. The LMC was opened as a separate municipal college under the administration of the Board of Trustees of the University of Louisville. It became part of the university in June 1951.
